A growing number of high school students are electing to take a break between the end of their high school years and the beginning of their college ones.
After all, why rush into adulthood too soon? A break between high school and college can allow students the chance to explore something they might otherwise never have the chance to tackle.
This story in the Wall Street Journal, highlights one high-acheiving student who took a year off and interned at a global health-centered nonprofit agency. The student will also live with a host family in Shanghai this spring.
This move is a good one for some students, especially those motivated enough to continue on to college after their year off.
